Are you tired of those fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes and mouth that make you look older than you are? As we get older, our skin has a harder time rejuvenating itself, and it begins to show the effects of a lifetime of exposure to the environment, as well as our diet and lifestyle choices. Frown lines, crows feet and lines on the forehead are all commonalities with age.
Although wrinkles can indicate wisdom or at least some amount of age, there is little doubt that wrinkles appear on newly born infants. The main source of concern for most of us is that certain forms of wrinkles are linked to the ageing process. Cosmetic procedures refer to the treatment of normal skin ageing that does not result in a functional defect.
Many products and techniques claim to help you get rid of wrinkles. Some products do little or nothing (for example, those that claim to diminish ‘the appearance of fine lines’ which means they don’t actually reduce the lines. Others have a good chance of succeeding.
The majority of wrinkles associated with ageing emerge on the portions of the body that receive the most sun exposure. The face, neck, backs of hands, and tops of forearms are all potential targets. There are two types of wrinkles: fine surface lines and deep furrows caused by muscular contraction. Some deep furrows are purely anatomical and have nothing to do with ageing.
In most cases, it is only the ageing wrinkles that cause concern. Prevention and therapy are the two main approaches to reducing these indicators of ageing.
In general, topical wrinkle treatments are far more helpful for fine lines. More intrusive procedures, such as filler injections, local muscle paralysis, or plastic surgery, may be required for deeper wrinkles.
Cellulite, is also a type of wrinkling, caused by fat accumulation in certain anatomical locations of the dermis and most typically appears in women’s hips and buttocks.
Skin cells divide more slowly as people become older, and the dermis, or inner layer of the skin, begins to shrink. The skin’s stretchiness and structure begin to deteriorate as a result.
Skin begins to lose its capacity to retain moisture as it ages. It produces less oil and heals more slowly. All of this contributes to the wrinkling of the skin. Other factors that contribute to wrinkles include:
Protect your skin from the sun’s rays. Spend as little time as possible in direct sunlight, especially during the day. Wear caps, sleeves, and sunglasses to protect yourself. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and reapply every 2 hours. Look for SPF in makeup, lotions, and other everyday beauty items so you know you’re getting daily protection no matter what.
Etwall Dental Practice offers two different treatments for wrinkles.
Juvéderm is a noninvasive technique that does not require surgery. Each Juvéderm solution contains a hyaluronic acid gel that works to “fill in” wrinkles from beneath the skin. Different versions of the volumizing solution are available to treat different types of wrinkles in adults.
Each treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. This is dependent on the number of shots you receive and the area being treated. Each injection may cause a tiny prickling sensation, but it isn’t meant to be uncomfortable.
According to the manufacturer, Juvéderm injections produce immediate results and recovery time.
Alternatively, Sculptra is a wrinkle-reducing solution that is injected into the skin. It contains PLLA, a collagen activator that helps restore fullness to face creases and folds over time. As a result, the skin appears softer and more youthful.
You’ll be asked to share your complete medical history, including any medical issues or allergies, at your initial appointment with a professional physician.
Your doctor will map the injection sites on your skin and cleanse the region on the day of your first Sculptra treatment. To alleviate any discomfort, a topical anaesthetic might be used. After that, your doctor will inject your skin with a series of tiny injections.
After treatment, you should be able to resume your normal activities right away. Any special instructions will be given to you by your doctor.
